A Senior Project Manager oversees high-priority and high-visibility projects, which often require considerable resources across multiple lines of business and has responsibility for all aspects of assigned projects over their entire lifecycle using waterfall, hybrid, or agile practices as needed. This role reports to the ePMO, but operates within a matrix environment to manage operational and tactical aspects of projects, fostering effective teamwork, and building strong internal and external relationships. Senior Project Managers are expected to coach and mentor junior staff, and lead or participate in departmental process improvement initiatives. This role operates within a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to multitask and delegate effectively.
- Manages complex scope discussions when requirements need to be prioritized and impact on project schedule and quality assessed.
- Coordinates with stakeholders to develop and manage required deliverables such as project charter, project schedule, RAID log, etc.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of projects from start to finish.
- Plans and facilitates project meetings.
- Identifies and manages project and task dependencies.
- Resource management – Identifies resource gaps/needs for project team, escalates to Resource Manager(s) appropriately, and works with impacted teams/resources to create contingency plans and transition processes.
- Oversees the detailed level business requirements and technical requirements process; ensures requirements are traceable and that testing activities are appropriately planned and defined.
Tracks and manages RAID items, identifying contingency plans with the project team as appropriate. - Accountable for completion of the testing process, including the testing plan, test case development, testing, defect tracking, prioritization and remediation.
Facilitates appropriate project change control processes and procedures.
Holds internal and external task owners accountable to ensure they are meeting deadlines and quality standards. - Understands and actively manages vendor scope and relationships when applicable.
Engages with stakeholders regarding project status, issues, risks, and decisions required through proper modalities (e.g., project site, project status reports, project team meetings, daily huddles, escalation). - Oversees the procurement of materials, equipment, and services needed for projects.
- Coordinates and manages the go live cutover plan and post go live cutover plan.
- Monitors project budget-to-actuals.
- Conducts lessons learned activities, creates final report, and transitions to the business.
- Follows and promotes ePMO processes, standards, and best practices.
- Coaches and mentors junior staff.
- Identifies process improvement opportunities and takes the lead on implementation.
- Works with project team to identify cross-functional or cross-project dependencies and communicates potential areas of dependency, integration, constraint and/or failure.
Education:
- High School Diploma
Certification:
- PMP certification required within 1 year of hire
Experience:
- 6 years of project Management
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay rate for Full Time employment is: $79,497.6- $132,496. Additional compensation may be available for this role such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities."
