Potomac Health Foundation is a private, independent foundation located in Woodbridge, Virginia. It was established in December 2009 as a result of the merger between Potomac Community Hospital and Sentara Healthcare, a Virginia not-for-profit corporation. Potomac Health Foundation serves the communities in eastern Prince William County, Virginia and adjacent communities in southeast Fairfax and north Stafford Counties.
The Foundation makes grants to non-profit organizations to improve the health of our service area by investing in programs that promote the health of the medically underserved.
The Foundation is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and employs three full time staff.
Reporting & Communications:
- Assist with managing data and generating reports from the grants management system.
- Prepare communications and updates for the Board of Directors, as needed. Assist with website updates, production of promotional materials, and annual report production.
- Support Board Chair and PHF Staff with special projects as needed.
Professional Characteristics and Qualifications:
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint) skills required. Familiarity using a grants lifecycle management system and/or customer relationship management system preferred.
- Nonprofit experience strongly preferred. Minimum of 2 years of professional office experience.
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage time well.
- Extremely well-organized and detail-oriented.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications skills. Integrity and dedication to the Foundation’s Mission.
- Self-starter with track record of accomplishment while working under minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking, a positive attitude, and strong, sound judgement.
- Professional and welcoming demeanor both in person and by email or phone. Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
