Sentara is hiring a full time Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department – Urgent Care / Med Surge / Intermediate Care to work at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Primary duties will be MS/IMC patients as well as non-life-threatening urgent care level patients within the Emergency Department.

The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Unit Description:
The Sentara Princess Anne Hospital provides exceptional emergency care to patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week with expert staff, cutting-edge technology and specialty services, including:
- Board-certified emergency physicians
- Emergency nurses certified in advanced cardiac life support, trauma and pediatric certifications
- Pediatric-trained team to treat children of all ages
- Overnight observation rooms for children and a separate family-friendly waiting area
- Seamless connection to easily accessible radiology department
- Landing pad for Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance to ensure quicker treatment in emergency situations
Education:
- ADN required, BSN or higher preferred.
Certification:
- Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
- BLS within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire
Experience:
- 2 years Nursing Experience in a hospital setting strongly Preferred.
- MS AND IMC experience STRONGLY PREFERRED
