Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Patient Monitoring Technician.
This position is on-site in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Position Status: Hiring for part-time (32 hours a week, 4 – eight shifts) nights, evenings, and day shifts
Position Location: Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center
Standard Working Hours: Evening Shift – 3:00PM – 11:00PM, Night Shift – 11:00PM – 7:00AM, Day Shift – 7:00AM – 3:00PM
Overview
Responsibilities are to observe and report high risk behaviors that may interrupt medically necessary therapies as well as patient safety and/or perceived changes in the patient’s condition to appropriate health care team members. Responsible for documenting the observed behaviors and need for redirection. Will function under the direction of the Program Manager and/or Team Coordinator. Focused on promoting positive patient experience by partnering with the patient’s family, and other care providers to provide an excellent patient experience. Reviews pertinent information and behaviors. Provides patients with explanations as necessary but does not counsel or provide opinions or judgment. Provides on-site staff with information in a timely fashion when patient appears to pose a threat to themselves or others. Participates in a collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues. Assures patient environment is safe. Seeks assistance with removal of any potential safety hazards from room and reports findings to the appropriate staff members. Maintains patient dignity and privacy. Works collaboratively and professionally with all other healthcare staff and providers, patient, patient’s family members to ensure an excellent patient experience. Responsible to document in patient EMR at a regular cadence per department policies/procedures.
