Sentara Health is hiring for a Medical Assistant- RMA/CCMA/CMA/EMT-B/AEMT/Paramedic for Sentara Endocrinology Kempsville in Norfolk, VA!

Status: Full-Time, permanent position (40 hours)
Standard working hours: 8am to 4:30pm (with 30 min lunch), M-F.
Location: Will report daily at Sentara Rheumatology Specialists: 844 Kempsville Rd Ste 103B, Norfolk, VA 23502. This position will mainly do clinical tasks and will cover the front desk as needed. Cross-training will be provided.
As a Medical Assistant with Sentara, you will work directly with a doctor conducting phlebotomy (lab), clinical and clerical duties. This position's primary responsibilities include bringing the patients into rooms, taking vitals, verifying patient information, and preparing them for the doctor. Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent REQUIRED

BLS REQUIRED within 90 days of hire.
Certification/Licensure:

CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or CMA- Certified Medical Assistant or RMA- Registered Medical Assistant or
EMT- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B, AEMT, or Paramedic) REQUIRED
Experience:
-
1 year Clinical/Administrative experience REQUIRED

Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting or one year experience as an EMT, Paramedic, and/or Corpsman preferred.

Phlebotomy experience preferred, plus experience with electronic medical records.
