Sentara Health is currently hiring an Administrative Associate for the Labor and Delivery Unit at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.
Hours/Shift: Part-Time, Rotating shifts (24 hours per week)
Position Overview:
As an Administrative Associate with Sentara, you will provide administrative support to the unit/department(s) you are assigned to. You will serve as the first point of contact for patients, family members and visitors coming into the unit. The Administrative Associate position requires the application of excellent customer service skills as well as computer and clerical skills.
This position's primary duties in the labor and delivery unit include positively identifying the patient, collecting demographic and insurance information, and admitting the patients. You will register all newborns along with submitting appropriate documentation for birth certification. Looking for an individual that not only has excellent customer service skills but also has compassion, positivity, can multi-task, and is team oriented.
Experience Required:
One year of previous work experience in a medical office OR
One year or more of previous work experience in customer service OR
One year or more of previous work experience in a call center OR
One year or more of previous clerical experience OR
Associates or bachelor’s level degree.
Education Required:
High School Diploma
