Sentara is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Research Finance Specialist. This is a full-time position located in Norfolk, VA. This position is hybrid and the associate will be required to be onsite 4 out of the 5 days.
The Research Finance Specialist provides administrative and financial oversight support to multidisciplinary research divisions and conducts contract and budget negotiations with various industry sponsors and academic centers.
Other responsibilities include financial management based on GAAP, accounting for research asset/liability accounts, profit and loss reports of the clinical trials cost centers, and reconciling the clinical trials management system. Reports monthly to Executive Leadership, and Corporate Finance. Ideal candidates must be able to read and interpret financial reports and develop budgets.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Five (5) years of related experience in Accounting/Finance
