Sentara CarePlex Hospital is currently hiring a Cardiovascular Invasive Tech in Hampton, VA. This is a full time, day shift position and requires "on-call" with a 30-minute response time.
Job Summary:
The Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist is a health care professional that, through the utilization of specialized equipment and under the direction of a qualified physician, assists in the performance of cardiac and vascular procedures, resulting in an accurate diagnosis and/or optimal treatment of congenital or acquired heart disease while maintaining maximum patient safety and comfort
The Cardiovascular Invasive Tech performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment, evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers during cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures
Provides patient care commonly used in the cardiac catheterization laboratory as requested and under the direction of a qualified physician
The Cardiovascular Invasive Tech acts as a first assistant during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization
Hours:
Monday – Friday: 7am-3:30pm, along with approximately 15 days of call per month (about every 3rd or 4th weekend).
Job Requirements:
Education: A graduate of a diploma, associates, or bachelor's health sciences program (includes, but is not limited to cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing) or a licensed/certified EMT or paramedic
Certification: BLS; ACLS required within 90 days of hire
