OVERVIEW OF OUR BURN TRAUMA UNIT
Burn Trauma is a 34-bed mixed Intermediate care and medical/surgical unit. There are 17 beds for stepdown/intermediate level of care. The patient population is neurosurgery, trauma, burns and orthopedic trauma. The intermediate care patients are received from both the Burn Trauma ICU and the Neurosurgical ICU. Also, there are 17 beds for Medical/Surgical level of care for neurosurgical, trauma, burns, orthopedic trauma, and bariatric weight loss (gastric bypass and gastric sleeves). Our nurses are trained to work both the intermediate and the medical surgical side. The nurse-to-patient ratio for the Intermediate Care beds are 3 to 4 and for the Medical/Surgical beds are 5 to 6. The Registered Nurse will work in a collaborative role as part of a team to maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice, to meet the health care needs of patients, their families, and the community.
In this Clinical Manager role, you will have accountability and responsibility for:
- 60 FTEs.
- Daily operations of clinical areas.
- Leading professional practices consistent with organization goals of safety, customer satisfaction, and quality.
- Process improvement.
- Fiscal budgeting and management.
- HR responsibilities, developing team members, retention strategies.
- Participating in Committees: Burn/Trauma, Bariatric, HAI, and others as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Experience
- One (1) year of formal management experience.
- Two (2) years of experience in a support leadership RN position, i.e., Unit Coordinator, Team Leader, or other similar position may be accepted in lieu of one (1) years of formal management experience.
- 3 years of Registered Nurse experience.
- IMCU experience is preferred, but not required
License / Certification
- Virginia or Multi-State Registered Nurse License in good standing
