Sentara Martha Jefferson Outpatient Surgery Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist!
~Full Time and Day shift~
5 8-hour shifts
Up to $15,000 sign on bonus for qualified candidates!
Job Description:
Implements plan of care for specific patient population.
Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to facilitate integrated and comprehensive care in the peri-operative environment.
Able to perform second tech role in the presence of the surgeon. Proactively identifies needs for the department.
Serves as a role model for students, new employees and fellow staff.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge and practice of aseptic technique and surgical technique for more complicated procedures.
Assists in development of policies, procedures and protocols on the unit level.
Participates in processes to improve cost management and reduce waste.
Minimum Requirements:
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Licensed Surgical Technologist – Virginia
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Trade School Graduate – Surgical Technologist OR training from military or vocational school

Participates in processes to improve cost management and reduce waste. 5 years Certified Surgical Tech experience required. 1 year of which is at a Surgical Tech II level for a Sentara facility with documentation of leadership, teamwork and department improvement efforts. Virginia Surgical Techs are required to be Licensed with the VBOM.
