Sentara is seeking an experienced Program Director to lead and develop a new Emergency Medicine residency in Woodbridge, VA. This will include the 2023 Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) application process for a 2026 program start. The position will involve direct patient care, leadership, teaching, and administrative responsibilities which will encompass full time hours with a clinical component through TeamHealth. This is an excellent opportunity to help establish a new GME program and to make a difference in the community by training new physicians and partnering in our mission to improve health every day.
Job Highlights:
●Develop the program curriculum. Maintain current knowledge of national innovations in curriculum form and content.
●Responsible for the recruitment, selection, instruction, supervision, counseling, evaluation, and advancement of residents.
●Develop policies for the program and monitor overall compliance with these policies.
●Provide leadership and direction to ensure compliance with institutional and program-specific requirements as defined by the ACGME, Clinical Learning Environment Review (CLER) Evaluation Committee, and National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).
●Serve as the primary graduate medical education (GME) leader for Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in partnership with Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
●Responsible for prudent management of the program’s financial resources

Minimum Requirements:
●M.D or D.O., licensed to practice medicine in Virginia
