This 172-bed state-of-the-art facility was founded in 1938 by Amedeo Obici, popularly known for founding Planters Peanuts (Mr. Peanut). In addition to having a variety of nursing units such as Medical/Surgical, Labor & Delivery, Behavioral Health, and Critical Care, Sentara Obici Hospital also has an onsite daycare center for the children of employees! They also have the K-9 Candystripers Program which allows dog handlers and their certified therapy dogs to make visits to patients, families, and staff. The Sentara Obici campus also includes BelleHarbour and St. Luke’s, which are outpatient medical centers that provide services in imaging, laboratory, emergency care, and rehabilitative therapy.
