Overview
Performs general maintenance as directed and as necessary on all aspects of building structure and systems to include floors, walls, ceilings, lighting HVAC, transportation systems, mechanical electrical, plumbing and other items.
Plumbing experience (commercial or residential) strong preferred. This position falls under "Mission Essential" personnel status. Eligible candidates must live within 30 minutes or less from the Sentara Martha Jefferson Campus.
Position does require rotating weekends, shifts and on-call as required.
Education
- High school diploma/equivalent or Trade School diploma
Certification/Licensure
- No specific certification or licensure requirements
- Valid Drivers License VA or NC (in good standing)
Experience
- 1-2 years previous experience facilities maintenance. Commercial experience strongly preferred
- Previous Plumbing knowledge and experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable working on team that supports other maintenance/facilities areas as needed (Electrical, HVAC, etc)
