Sentara Health is seeking a full time, day shift Monitor Tech for Telemetry Monitor Surveillance at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA.
Job Description:

Observes, recognizes, interprets, evaluates, and documents EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients in order to detect deviations from patient's norm.

Promptly notifies appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias.

Operates and utilizes monitoring system to full capacity.

Ensures proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment.
Job Requirements:

High School Diploma and completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course.
OR
-
Minimum of a High School Diploma and 1 year of experience in monitor technician surveillance/EKG monitoring within the last 5 years will be accepted in substitute of a monitor tech surveillance program/course. Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.

To be released from new employee orientation all Monitor Technicians must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool which includes passing a basic arrhythmia exam.
