This is a Full-time, Day Shift position.
Qualified candidates must have a bachelor's level degree in Dietetics or other field and have completed an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics. Registered Dietitian credential is required. If not credentialed (RD, RDN) at hire, must obtain within 9 months.

Clinical Nutrition Team
Our department serves to provide consistent leadership and support across Sentara with an emphasis on team growth, job promotion, and quality care for our patients. We provide safe, competent evidence-based nutritional therapy that meets the scope of practice per the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and in accordance with the medical staff-approved clinical practice standards. We work collaboratively with the health care team, food service department, and other nutrition professionals. Responsible for managing patient's medical nutrition therapy that includes assessment and diagnosis of Malnutrition, Nutrition-focused physical exams, recommendations on diet and oral supplement prescriptions, and the volume, rate, and composition of parenteral and enteral feedings.
Job Summary
Responsible for managing patient's medical nutrition therapy in accordance with the medical staff approved clinical practice standards. Serves as a resource for nutrition education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Level Degree: Dietetics (Required) If a Bachelor's Degree is in major other than Dietetics, must complete an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics.
- Registered Dietician (RD), Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
If Bachelor's Degree is in major other than Dietetics, must complete an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics. If not Reg Dietitian or RDN at hire, must obtain within 9 months. PACE specific incumbents for this position require a minimum of one year of experience working with the frail or elderly population. BLS required within 90 days of hire.
